A famous bandleader, suffering from overwork and exhaustion, goes to a sanitarium for a rest. While there he dreams of being out west at a dude ranch, where he finds himself involved in the beautiful owner's struggle to keep her ranch from falling into the hands of the villain, who wants either her or her ranch (or, preferably, both).
Snake, a notorious outlaw, robs the general store. True Boardman, the sheriff, and a posse starts out after him. Snake riddles the sheriff's hat with bullets and the sheriff and posse run under cover. Boardman resigns. The village trustees appoint a new sheriff. Snake writes a note saying he will be in Kelly's saloon that night.
Black Wolf, a brave, wants Whispering Water to be his squaw. Whispering Water is afraid of this taciturn Indian and refuses. He tries to carry her off but is stopped by another Indian, Brave Heart, and there is a savage light in which Black Wolf is worsted. He appeals to the chief to banish Brave Heart.
Woody is a wandering cowboy who notices an ad at a western post office advertising for a new mail delivery rider. Woody accepts but is warned of mail thief Buzz Buzzard. Woody regards the buzzard as a pushover and begins his trek. Sure enough, Woody eventually encounters the buzzard who uses every trick possible to snatch the mail from Woody's hands spreading tacks across the road and dynamiting a bridge. But Woody is prepared for Buzz's antics...
Drifters Tom Williams and Joe Morgan have a chance meeting with the sheriff's daughter and learn that her brother Jim is being held prisoner in Line Hollow by Wolf, who aspires to be the next sheriff. They aid the sheriff in finding the outlaw gang and rescuing Jim. Tom decides to stop drifting and stay near the sheriff's daughter.

With Silver City Raiders, perennial western sidekick Russell Hayden launched his own starring series. Hayden plays "Lucky", the same character he'd previously essayed in the Hopalong Cassidy films. This time around, Lucky tries to prove that crooked land baron Dawson (Paul Sutton) doesn't have prior claim on the entire territory. When legal methods prove only moderately effective, Lucky and his chums use more direct methods to drive Dawson and his ilk out of town.
